In 2019 Walsh County Health District, First Care Health Center, and Unity Medical Center completed a Community Health Needs Assessment jointly. The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) uses a process of surveys, community meetings, and key informant interviews to identify health needs of the community and to prioritize areas for improvement.

Once the CHNA processes were completed an Implementation Plan was developed to address the following areas that were determined to be a priority for Walsh County:

• Access to and Availability of Mental Health Services
• Substance Use Disorders (Adults and Youth)
• Nutrition and Physical Activity
