Walsh County Treasurer is seeking applications for the Walsh County Deputy Treasurer II position. This position will work directly under the recently combined Auditor/Treasurer role. 

 

What does a Deputy Treasurer do? The Deputy II will act as the primary lead for the work that has traditionally been performed in the Treasurer’s office, and serves as back-up to the Auditor/Treasurer for certain functions. The Treasurer’s office is responsible for the collection of state and local funds (AKA tax dollars), the disbursement and investment of local funds, and the accounting for those funds. Candidates must have a proven track record of being proficient and accurate with numbers and professional and courteous in transactions with the public. A background in finance, business, or accounting would be beneficial (Associate’s degree or equivalent experience desired); familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing software is a must. Under the combined Auditor/Treasurer offices this position will work closely with other staff assisting with election work and a multitude of miscellaneous county projects.

walsh county highway department road & bridge maintenance technician - park river and adams area

Calling all equipment operators! The Walsh County Highway Department will be accepting applications for a Maintenance Tech III, based out of the Walsh County Highway Department Shop 7, in Park River, North Dakota until the position is filled.  Full earning potential of $4,202/mo to $5,829/mo ($24.24/hr – $33.63/hr) with an excellent benefit package.

 

Applicant’s main responsibility will be as a Motor Grader Operator, but is also responsible for performing general labor-type duties, hand and power tool operation, and advanced level truck and equipment operation on various road and bridge projects.  Must have the ability to operate tandem truck/pup or semi-tractor/trailer, heavy equipment, tractors, skid steers.  Winter months will be in trucks or motor grader for snow removal.  Applicant must have a Class A driver’s license (or ability to acquire one) and have background knowledge of the general maintenance of equipment.

 

Walsh County Highway Department employees are subject to random drug and alcohol screens.  Successful applicant must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.

Correctional Officers are the font line staff for the Walsh County Correctional Facility and are responsible for the safety and security of the facility, staff, and inmates. You will be expected to follow the policies and procedures of the facility to include holding inmates accountable to established rules and regulations.

This individual will serve as a communication link with all emergency responders; will monitor and operate a variety of communications equipment; and will assist the public with all emergency communication-related needs.  Requires equivalency to completion of twelfth grade and a clear criminal background history.  General experience dealing with the public in a service environment is desirable.

WALSH COUNTY – CUSTODIAL ASSISTANT (Part Time)

Come join our family-friendly, people-first team! Walsh County is accepting applications for a Custodial Assistant. This position is based out of the Walsh County Courthouse in Grafton, North Dakota. 

 

The position is under supervision of the Maintenance Technician II. Applicant is responsible for performing general labor-type duties, hand and power tool operation, semi-skilled tasks in the general cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs of the Courthouse Campus buildings and grounds.  This is a Part-Time Position with up to 20 hours per week.  Applicant must have a valid driver’s license.

Walsh County Planning & zoning commission board position

Walsh County is seeking a helpful resident to serve on the Walsh County Planning and Zoning Commission.
 
The Planning Commission, appointed by the County Commissioners of Walsh County, acts as a citizen board for all planning matters. It reviews and approves all major subdivisions and site plans. It makes recommendations regarding variance and special exceptions. The commission also makes recommendations to the County Commissioners on zoning map and zoning text amendments. The Commission may also prepare ordinances and plans for review by the County Commissioners.
Members of the commission serve 4-year terms and are compensated for each meeting plus mileage.
