Applicants must be able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize importance of work, and meet deadlines in a timely manner. The auditor’s office is the hub of the courthouse so it is a fast-paced work environment with a lot of variety in work projects; handling everything from payroll, legal descriptions and deeds, levies, budgeting, and running the election to name a few. This position handles multiple tasks relating to other county departments, so a strong team mindset is important. Must be detail oriented and possess a minimum two years experience working with numbers and financial transactions. The Walsh County Highway Department will be accepting applications until the position is filled, for an Asphalt Foreman, based out of the Walsh County Highway Department Shop 7 and Shop 4, in Park River and Lankin respectively. Walsh County reserves the right to under fill this position as an equipment operator.
The position reports to the Highway Superintendent. Applicant is responsible for performing general labor-type duties, hand and power tool operation, and advanced level truck and equipment operation on various asphalt preservation projects. Ability to operate tandem truck/pup or semi-tractor/trailer, heavy equipment, tractors, skid steers. Winter months for snow removal will be in trucks or motor grader. Applicant must have a Class A driver’s license or ability to acquire one and have background knowledge of the general maintenance of trucks.
Walsh County Highway Department employees are subject to random drug and alcohol screens. Successful applicant must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
